01 / THE APPROACH
Give the material more than a colour name.
Flooring decisions involve texture, construction, room use and fitting details, not just a colour in a photograph. We built First Edition Carpets around those distinctions. The homepage introduces the relationship between how a floor feels and how it works, then gives carpet and hard flooring their own space.
The content is deliberately specific about the questions without inventing a stock range or a fitting promise. Pile direction, transitions, sample comparisons and the existing floor all provide useful substance. There is no inherited showroom story, price list or manufacturer claim to confuse that information with another business.
02 / WEBSITE BUILD
A tactile introduction with depth behind it.
A two-level retail-style masthead sits above an original interior illustration, with the carpet visible across the foreground. The flooring edit introduces carpets, hard flooring and the room-by-room guide. A separate material feature pairs detailed copy with a textile study, followed by practical considerations and expandable questions.
Each supporting page contains a clear introduction, a contents list and three sections of detailed copy. Related links make it easy to move between the material explanation and the planning guide. The structure is ordinary HTML, enhanced with a small mobile navigation script rather than relying on client-side rendering for the content.
03 / LOCAL SEO
Separate materials, connected by a useful guide.
The local SEO foundation gives each page a defined subject. Carpet texture and pile, hard-flooring construction and room planning receive distinct titles and descriptions. Descriptive internal links connect those pages, while canonical URLs and the sitemap keep the published addresses consistent.
The structured data identifies the website and organisation without asserting stock, prices, a showroom location or customer reviews. The result is a clear technical starting point and a more understandable content structure. No search-position increase or Google Business Profile result is claimed from launching the website.
04 / VISUAL DIRECTION
Let the texture carry the opening.
The opening illustration places a tactile carpet in a light interior with a red chair and a cobalt accent. Further down, rolled carpet and textile swatches bring the material into close view. Strong display typography and restrained berry accents give the site a catalogue character. The images illustrate flooring rather than representing stock or completed work.
At phone width the copy sits above a shorter artwork crop, keeping the fibres and rolls visible without putting text across them. Responsive WebP files and locally hosted fonts support a consistent presentation. The desktop and mobile checks also cover image alternatives, page links and the expandable questions.
